Quiero Flamenco Presents: Poeta an Evening of Contemporary Flamenco
Quiero Flamenco’s newest show “ Poeta” represents the Company’s next step in expanding the boundaries and scope of fusing multiple disciplines and genres of music and dance. This show is the most ambitious production Quiero Flamenco has undertaken to date. The production is inspired by both the album “Poeta” by Vicente Amigo, the critically acclaimed Flamenco guitarist, as well as from Flamenco dancer and artist Fanny Ara. Fanny is a world-acclaimed and highly sought after Flamenco dancer and choreographer. She recently produced a short film “Chrysalis”, which was awarded two 4Theatre awards: Best First Time Short and Best Woman Empowerment. The production will take both inspirational works and create an evening of dance and music and will also incorporate Fanny’s short film, Chrysalis.
Local guitarist and composer Mellad Abeid, as well as Fanny Ara and acclaimed guest composer and multi-instrumentalist Gonzalo Grau, will take themes from the album Poeta and create original compositions that incorporate Flamenco rhythms to present and evening of original, contemporary Flamenco art.
